If you fancy writing some more creative pieces, then November is the month to start!

November Means National Novel Writing Month

For many people November is just a grey, dull month on the long plod to Christmas. But for a number of perhaps slightly crazed individuals, November means National Novel Writing Month (Nanowrimo) one of the largest, funnest writing events of the year.

The challenge of Nanowrimo is to write a 50,000 word novel, around 175 pages, in 30 days. It doesn’t have to be a complete project, it doesn’t have to be in English, it doesn’t even have to be any good, but it does need to be 50,000 words of original work that you have produced during the month of November.

Technically this works out to 1667 words a day. Some people stick to that rigidly, others will do very little for days on end, and then sit down on the weekend and pound out several thousands of words in one sitting.

Of course this doesn’t mean that you HAVE to write 50,000 words. Set yourself a goal, sit down, and try to write a story, or many stories, or just write whatever comes into your head.
