    1. Film name, actors, genre, setting

    “UP”, Edward Asner, adventure

    2. Short summary

The old man named ‘Karl’ tried to go to South America to make his wife’s dream. Karl tied up lots of balloons to his house and moved his house. However, the young boy ‘Russell’ followed him and travel together by mistake. They faced lots of troubles, but they overcame everything. Finally, Karl and Russell came back to America.

    3. What did you like about the movie?

It is an Animation, so the characters in the movie were so cute. Also, every scene in the movie was very realistic and beautiful even though it was the animation movie. In addition, the story of “UP” was very moving, so I could remember it for a long time.

    4. What did you dislike about the movie? (ex., clichés, bad acting, bad plot twists)

In the last part of this movie, I could quite expect the ending of it. I think that most people could expect the ending of it, so some people might be bored when they watch the last part of the movie.

    5. In what ways would you change the movie? (ex., characters, pace, plot, ending, cinematography, etc.)

In the movie, we can see the story of Karl and his wife. This is very important because it is the reason why Karl decided to move his house. If I were a movie director, I would explain their stories more specifically to help people to understand Karl’s feeling.

    6. Are there any memorable lines?
    “You know… It’s just a house.”
Karl actually couldn’t delete his memories about his wife, and he tried to keep his house as one of the expressions to show his obsession about his wife. As he said “You know… It’s just a house.”, he could leave his wife beautifully and sincerely from his heart.

Eddie is incompetence author who can not write even one word though deadline is coming. He lives poorly after abandoned from his girlfriend. One day he meet a brother of ex-girlfriend and is given a medicine that puts brain on working 100%. 3. What did you like about the movie?
I was impressed that using brain more effectively and actively can make me be different from now. I felt I don’t use my brain to think and learn. Eddie’s change by taking this medicine gives us lesson that we have to think and move.

    4. What did you dislike about the movie? (ex., clichés, bad acting, bad plot twists)
After taking the medicine, Eddie feels very good and act as the fancy takes. He has a drug and alcohol a lot and don’t remember his behavior like murder and place he went to. These things seem to be wrong acting for medicine.

    5. In what ways would you change the movie?
I want to change the final story of this movie. Eddie let this medicine make his life but I think his own intention must control his life. So according to my adaption, he comes out from a temptation of drug and stands up by himself.

    6. Are there any memorable lines?
“Nobody maintain a that condition if there isn’t fall.”
It is the words of Eddie’s girlfriend to talk about danger of taking this medicine.

    1. Film name, actors, genre, setting
THE GODFATHER , THE GODFATHER 2, THE GODFATHER3
Marlon Brando as Vito Corleone, formerly known as Vito Andolini, who is the Don (the “boss”) of the Corleone family. He is a native Sicilian married to Carmela Corleone. Vito is the father of Santino (Sonny), Federico (Fredo), Michele (Michael) and Constanzia (Connie).
Al Pacino as Michael Corleone, the Don’s youngest son, recently returned from World War II. The only college-educated member of the family, Michael initially wants nothing to do with the “family business”. He is the main protagonist of the story and his evolution from doe-eyed outsider to ruthless boss is the key plotline of the film.
James Caan as Santino “Sonny” Corleone, Don Corleone’s hot-headed eldest son. As underboss, he is being groomed to succeed his father as head of the Corleone family.
Richard S. Castellano as Peter Clemenza, a caporegime for the Corleone family. He is also an old friend of Vito Corleone and Salvatore Tessio.
Robert Duvall as Tom Hagen, Don Corleone’s informally adopted son, he is the family lawyer and consigliere (counselor). Unlike the Corleones, he is of German-Irish descent, not Sicilian.
Diane Keaton as Kay Adams-Corleone, initially Michael’s non-Italian girlfriend and then his second wife and the mother of his two children.
John Cazale as Fredo Corleone, the middle son of the Corleone family. Deeply insecure and not very bright, he is considered the weakest of the Corleone brothers.

    2. Short summary
The story begins as “Don” Vito Corleone, the head of a New York Mafia “family”, oversees his daughter’s wedding. His beloved son Michael has just come home from the war, but does not intend to become part of his father’s business. Through Michael’s life the nature of the family business becomes clear. The business of the family is just like the head of the family, kind and benevolent to those who give respect, but given to ruthless violence whenever anything stands against the good of the family. Don Vito lives his life in the way of the old country, but times are changing and some don’t want to follow the old ways and look out for community and “family”. An up and coming rival of the Corleone family wants to start selling drugs in New York, and needs the Don’s influence to further his plan. The clash of the Don’s fading old world values and the new ways will demand a terrible price, especially from Michael, all for the sake of the family.

    3. What did you like about the movie?
The play examined the myth of the American Dream and the universal hopes and fears of middle-class America. and shows the real word itself.

    4. What did you dislike about the movie? (ex., clichés, bad acting, bad plot twists)
the movie’s running time is too long.

    5. In what ways would you change the movie? (ex., characters, pace, plot, ending, cinematography, etc.)
    flawless, there are no change.
    6. Are there any memorable lines? (For example, in the movie Shawshank Redemtion, one of the main characters says about life, “(you can) get busy living, or get busy dying.” A very inspirational quote!
–im gonna make him an offer he cant refuse.

    1.Film name / actors / genre
The Front Line / Shin HaGyun, GoSu, Lee JeHooon …… / war, drama

    2.Short summary
During the Korean War, the area called “AERO-K” is where the battle occurs the most fiercely. AERO-K`s owner is repeated hundreds of times between South and North. This film is developed with the area as a central place. The battles between South and North continue, but one day, the two Korea agree to a ceasefire. However, before the agreement takes effect, they want to expand their territory so that they have a last battle. Everyone dies in the battle, except one of main characters.

3.What did you like about the movie?
I like this movie because this looks like reality. I mean that this movie describes the plot by acting realistically, using proper props and actual name of a place. These help me concentrate on the movie. In addition, this movie reminds me of Korea`s history and it gives me a opportunity to think about it. Also, some comic scenes boost my interest on the movie.

4.What did you dislike about the movie
The plot includes the love between south soldier and north soldier. Although this love is not successful, I think that the love is not realistic , especially they are enemies each other.

5.In what ways would you change the movie?
If I had been a director, I would have eliminated the scene s concerning the love between south man and north woman to increase the reality. Also, I would like to change the ending for happier one to feel hope

    6. Are there any memorable lines?
A one of main charaters say “If anybody would throw a hand grenade, I would die” and he run toward the enemy alone when they need something to resolve the bad situation in the battle.

I’ve seen this movie, and I felt how miserable a war is. These days, North korea’s threat is intensifying more and more. Appreciating this movie, I can considerably contemplate about my country’s history and I think a war have never to happen forever.

    1. Film name, actors, genre, setting
    Film name : Dark Knight
Actors : Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart
    Genre : Action and Crime
Setting : Gotham City, New York
    Director : Christopher Nolan

    2. Short summary
The symbol of evil, joker kills many people and says he do not stop killing until bat man reveal his identity. So Harvey Dent lies he is bat man. But, joker already knows Harvey isn’t bat man. Finally, Joker drag evil side which is concealed inside of Harvey out of him and Bat man who thinks genuine virtue exists in human decides to take all the Harvey’s fault and vanished.

    3. What did you like about the movie?
Heath Ledger performs greatly in this movie. He shows perfectly the theme of the movies with Christian Bale, “evil and virtue necessarily coexist in the real world, without one thing, the other one couldn’t be anything.”
Surely, Bat man and Joker couldn’t exist in real world. But Harvey Dent represents the real human who have both evil and virtue inside oneself. I think Harvey Dent is the most important role in this movie, because he symbolizes the reality that human can’t avoid. In this respect the director, Christopher Nolan proves himself as an outstanding director producing the necessary characters in the movie for making the film perfectly.
Also, I like the unfolding process of the theme through the progress of the film. The director explains well why Bat man comes out to the world, and why he chooses to be vanished at the last scene.
Actually, I love the specific scene of two boats on the river. In one boat, only prisoners are kidnapped and in the other boat, citizens are kidnapped. In the scene, Joker gives a detonator of a boat to the other boat and said “I will blow up all boat if you wouldn’t blow up the other one before midnight.” And all people are concerned about it. And one of the prisoners takes the detonator and says “I will do what you have to do already.” And he throws away that. This scene means citizens(virtue) are same with prisoners(evil) basically. Although, maybe citizens(human in real world) are all potential prisoners(evil), all people ceaselessly fight with evil. It shows the real anxiety in human.

    4. What did you dislike about the movie? (ex., clichés, bad acting, bad plot twists)
There is nothing I dislike. It is perfect movie among the movies that I’ve ever seen. The performance by actors is superb, scenario is beyond that of the existing action films which show not profound theme but fancy action scene, and even the action scene is wonderful.

    5. In what ways would you change the movie? (ex., characters, pace, plot, ending, cinematography, etc.)
If I were a director, I wouldn’t tell much directly to the audiences. I will reduce the number of lines which consistently say what is a theme of the film. Because there is too much word, of course the audiences could understand better. But I think this sort of films which have a profound theme have to make audiences consider more and more.

    6. Are there any memorable lines? (For example, in the movie Shawshank Redemtion, one of the main characters says about life, “(you can) get busy living, or get busy dying.” A very inspirational quote!
At the latter scene Bat man does not kill Joker even though he could kill. And Joker said “You just couldn’t let me go, could you? You truly are incorruptible, aren’t you? You won’t kill me at a misplace sense of self-righteousness and I won’t kill you because you are just too much fun.” These lines condense a topic of double-sidedness in all human.

Yeap. It was one of my memorable line too. In my opinion, what Joker said was wrong but also right which made this movie so fascinating!

The film name is “Hwang San Bul(2003)” and the main actors are Joong-Hun, Park, Jin-Young, Jung and Mun-Sik, Lee. The movie’s genre is comedy war and the setting is Chung cheong nam-do, South Korea. The film is related to the war between Go-gu-ryeo, Baek-jae and Shilla. However, the film title ‘Hwang San Bul’ is now the area of Chung cheong nam do where the war had appeared. Finally, Baek jae defeated by Shilla and this war is called Hwang san bul battle. I really favored this movie because the film described the dramatic Hwang san bul battle as humorously and comically. Also, there were sympathic and melo emotions which drag up the viewers’ compassion. However, there were some historical mistakes. Baek jae was located in the area now called Chung cheong nam do where use Chung cheong do dialect. However, in movie, Baek jae soldiers use Jeon ra do dialect same as Shilla soldiers. It somehow confused me to hardly get the director’s intention. So if I change the movie, I’d like to convert the Baek jae soldiers use Chung cheong do dialect so that the audience can understand the movie easily and get the correct historical information. I think the most impressive speech in the film was ” The strong man isn’t survive but survived man is strong.” said by Jin-yong, Jung. It gave me the strong shock to remind my behavior and to set the new goal.

    1. Film name, actors, genre, setting
    Step Up Revolution, 2012
-actors : Ryan Guzman, Kathryn McCormick, Adam G. Sevani
    -genre : melo/romance
    -setting : Miami, USA
    2. Short summary
The dance group named “Mob” firstly appear in the movie. The members of the club are showed up with music. The “Mob” dominate the whole street and make dance performance. One of the club members named sean dreamed of earning thousands of dollars through Utube battle. On the other hand, woman protagonist, Emily, wanted to be a professional dancer. Accidentally, they meet in the street and fall in love. They take play role in the dance club and strive for their goal. Moreover, Emily’s father is owner of the hotel and he wanted to redevelop hotel and try to tear down the near houses forcely. The three of them met and had a conflict. It’s main events in movie.
    3. What did you like about the movie?
This is romance movie, but it also deal with some social problems related with redevelopments. I think the writer(or director) is expressing his argument through these problematic scences. For me, it attracted me that the movie is dealing with not only romance but also society problem.
    4. What did you dislike about the movie? (ex., clichés, bad acting, bad plot twists)
I thought the process which protagonist go thorugh the hardship and love is so short. I was really into the movie, feeling this story is short. In fact, it is just little shorter than others. I think the reason is simple and short process.
    5. In what ways would you change the movie? (ex., characters, pace, plot, ending, cinematography, etc.)
I want to add more main characters related to woman protagonist. In fact, the movie has a lot of characters but main characters are not many. That’s why it has short loving process. Adding one or two main characters could make rich story of movie.
    6. Are there any memorable lines? (For example, in the movie Shawshank Redemtion, one of the main characters says about life, “(you can) get busy living, or get busy dying.” A very inspirational quote!
“Sometimes, people have to speak up their voices.”
(- I am not sure about it cause I just translate korean to english!)

    1. Film name, actors, genre, setting
My favorite movie is A walk to Remember(2002). Main actors are Shane West and Mandy Moor. Mandy Moor is also famous as a singer. This movie deals with romance between two teenagers in Northcarolina.

    2. Short summary
In Beaufort, North Carolina, a group of bad students put a naive boy who wants to join the group into the lake and the boy get hurt seriously. Landon Carter, a popular student with no defined plans for the future, is held responsible and forced to participate in after-school community service activities as punishment, which include joining the school play. Through this community service activity, Landon met with Jamie Sullivan, the reverend’s daughter who has great ambitions and nothing in common with Landon. When Landon decides he wants to take his activities seriously, he asks Jamie for help and begins to spend most of his time with her. But he starts to develop strong feelings for her, something he did not expect to do. The two start a relationship but Landon’s friends and Jamie’s father are opposed to their relationship. Furthermore, London notices that Jamie has a big illness. Under the hard situation, Landon becomes mature and tries to do best for Jamie. It makes Jamie’s father and Landon’s friends get impressed. Finally Jamie and Landon get married and after that, she dies.

3.What did you like about the movie?
First of all, O.S.T of this movie is great. Most of songs in the movie are good and especially “Only hope” is the best of them. In the school play scene, Jamie sings the song, “Only hope”, and Landon is fascinated to her. I was also into the scene and the song. “Only hope” is really good so it’s quite famous even among people who never watched this movie.
Besides the songs, the story is so romantic and actor and actress really well expressed lovely romance. Landon was a really childish and selfish boy. At first, he is mean to Jamie but later, he does everything what Jamie wanted to. And for her, he decided to be a doctor. As a result, pure love changes one man’s life. It’s romantic and has a message. And about actors, Shane west who plays Landon was really good in his acting. He was a perfect Landon himself who is rebellious but attractive. I can’t imagine “Landon” acted by other actor.

    4. What did you dislike about the movie?
The plot is too simple and typical. Everyone who watches this movie can expect story and ending. Especially, about Jamie has illness, I thought it’s very similar to Korean drama which is unrealistic. Actually, the whole story is unrealistic. It’s like a internet novel that is written by teenager. I know many novels that have story like this movie. Cool and popular boy falls in love with ordinary girl and they have relationship but many people are opposed to them…

    5. In what ways would you change the movie? (ex., characters, pace, plot, ending, cinematography, etc.) I want to change Jamie’s situation. In the movie, she is poor girl and mean sutedents ridicule her. Although this situation, she is confident. But if she was rich, she could be more confident and would not be ridiculed by others. And I also want to change the ending. In the movie, Jamie dies. Because of this, their love is too short. It’s must be less than a year. Usually, I like happy ending so I want to change the ending and see their future.

    6. Are there any memorable lines? (For example, in the movie Shawshank Redemtion, one of the main characters says about life, “(you can) get busy living, or get busy dying.” A very inspirational quote!
“our love is like the wind.. I can’t see it, but I can feel it…”

    1. Film name, actors, genre, setting, stolen: Actors: Nicolas Cage, Josh Lucas, Danny Huston, Malin Akerman, Sami Gayle,: Genre: Action
    2. Short summary: Stolen follows a former thief frantically searching for his missing daughter, who has been kidnapped and locked in the trunk of a taxi, while trying to avoid FBI agents convinced he is lying and looking to find the money he stole 8 years prior. While the story seems like Taken it really isn’t. Yeah there are similarities, but really no more than there is in tons of other action thrillers in this genre. The story here is more straight-forward and on a smaller scale, but still works fairly well. Cage delivers a bit more of a relaxed performance, but still manages to execute some of his over the top performance in there from time to time. Luckily it’s usually when it is needed so doesn’t distract too much from the overall film. The supporting cast is pretty good featuring Malin Ackerman, Mark Valley, Danny Huston, and Josh Lucas who seemed to take over with the over the top delivery here. While a bit silly at times, Lucas character still works decently. What really make this film work at all are the decent action and the clever robbery scenarios. It has become pretty rare to deliver something all that interesting in film bank jobs, but here they did some pretty creative stuff.
    3. What did you like about the movie?
I like this movie and so far it looks at least kinda of interesting with great acting performances. I quite liked this film its not great but i found it enjoyable and i liked Nicolas cages performance he did good as always. Even if it has been done before.
    4. What did you dislike about the movie?
I Precisely good but nothing new in story. Just a mix-up of movies like taken, gone in 60 seconds.
Same old dialogues we have heard before
Its all so predictable and these plots have been made earlier
    5. In what ways would you change the movie
Writing movies is hard. Especially when audiences stubbornly demand you entertain them for at least 90 minutes. This is why, in movie stolen characters are so often forced to drag problems out for an hour when, in reality, the situation could have been solved during the opening credits.
    6. Are there any memorable lines?
Tim Harlend: Was like oh yeah, thank you, Will. I’ll return to my life now.
Will Montgomery: I’m about to find out.

    2. Short summary

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, about eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka (Depp) and Charlie, a good-hearted boy from a poor family who lives in the shadow of Wonka’s extraordinary factory. Long isolated from his own family, Wonka launches a worldwide contest to select an heir to his candy empire. Dazzled by one amazing sight after another, Charlie is drawn into Wonka’s fantastic world in this astonishing andenduring story.

    3. What did you like about the movie?

I was so excited when I watch this movie for the first time, and still, it gives me refreshing feeling whenever I see this. Innocent and fascinating story and mise-en-scene of the film are attracting me every time. I especially like the vivid color sense and interesting visual design.

    4. What did you dislike about the movie?

It was too evident character’s classification between good and devil and this factor seems to two-dimensional and stereotyped. Why main character is always good person? Maybe… I think this film success in giving moral lessen saying “Do the right thing” but not in making watchers agonize in different way.

    5. In what ways would you change the movie?

If I were Tim Burton, I will change the length of sequence that oompa loompas are singing and dancing to shorter version to maintain interest of storyline because this scene is so repeated and too long and consequently, it interrupted concentration to narratives. Also, I think it is better to highlight on the showing diverse amusing candies and chocolates which gives audiences to imaginative pleasure.

    6. Are there any memorable lines?

    Charlie: No. We’re not going.
A woman offered me $500 for the ticket.
I bet someone else would pay more.
We need the money more than we need the chocolate.
    Grandfather: Young man, come here.
There’s plenty of money out there.
    They print more every day.
    But this ticket…
…there’s only five of them in the whole world…
…and that’s all there’s ever going to be.
Only a dummy would give this up for something as common as money.
    Are you a dummy?

If Only / Jennifer Love Hewitt (Samantha) & Paul Nicholls (Ian) / Romance & Melo / London

    2. Short summary
Ian Wyndham is a businessman who lives with his musician girlfriend Samantha Andrews in London. One day, Ian is in a taxi and he tells the driver about how he and Samantha are going through their problems. The driver recommends that he have to just love her. After Samantha’s concert, Ian quarrel with Samantha at restaurant. Samantha leaves that restaurant with tears in her eyes and gets in a passing taxi. After Samantha dies in an accident shortly after they had a fight, Ian gets a chance to relive the day all over again in the hope of changing the events that led up to her getting killed. Ian try to present her a perfect day, and eventually he dies instead of her.

    3. What did you like about the movie?
Actually, I dislike Romantic movie, but I was impressed by this movie. The reason why I like this movie is dedicated and ardent love of the two. Whenever I watch this movie, I always think about that how many people can do like Ian. The point is that I can feel true love in this movie even though it is too romantic and fictional.

    4. What did you dislike about the movie? (ex., clichés, bad acting, bad plot twists)
This movie emphasizes too devotional aspect of man. Therefore, whenever I watch this movie, I just empty the thought and appreciate the movie without thinking. (However, it also can be the reason why I like this movie. ^^)

    5. In what ways would you change the movie? (ex., characters, pace, plot, ending, cinematography, etc.)
If I can make this movie again, I want to change the role between man and woman. For example, Samantha is very busy musician and Ian is just normal businessman.

    6. Are there any memorable lines? (For example, in the movie Shawshank Redemtion, one of the main characters says about life, “(you can) get busy living, or get busy dying.” A very inspirational quote!
In the movie, Ian (Paul Nicholls) says about love to Samantha before take a taxi. (When he prepare to die instead of her)
“I have to tell you this and you need to hear it. I loved you since I met you. But I wouldn’t allow myself to truly feel it until today. I was always thinking ahead. Making decisions out of fear. Today because of what I learned from you, every choice I made was different and my life has completely changed. If I loved you sincerely, I lived worthy though I lived just a day. It doesn’t matter if you have five minutes or fifty years. Thank you for being the person who taught me to love and to be loved.”

    3. What did you like about the movie?
When I saw this movie, I could see the culture of American high school. 4. What did you dislike about the movie? (ex., clichés, bad acting, bad plot twists)

I do not have anything that I want to change, but if I have to change anything in this movie, I want to change the son of the main character. I’m going to introduce a movie “Honokaa Boy (2009)” which is one of my favorite movies.
This Japanese movie based on the book of the same title by Leo Yoshida is directed by Atsushi Sanada, and many Japanese young actors and actresses such as Okada Masaki, Yu Aoi, and Hasegawa Jun were in the drama film.
In Korea, the title of’ Honokaa boy’ was released with changing into ‘Hawaiian Recipe’ because ‘Honokaa’ is in the Hamakua District of Hawaii County, U.S. and many kinds of food play a key role in relationships between movie characters.
And short summary is as follows: the main character ‘Leo’ is a university student who is traveling to Hawaii and works as a cinema assistant operator when staying in Honokaa theater. And he meets various people there, especially becomes friends with weird old woman ‘Bee’. This lovely cook recalls departed husband’s early days through Leo and feels fluttering while she treats meals for him. Then one day, Leo gets along one pretty girl of his age, and that rouses Bee’s unconscious jealousy, and then accidentally she become blind after keels over in unknown cause. Finally, after the young girl returns to her ex-boyfriend right away, the Honokaa boy also comes back to Bee.
When you guys follow this summary, you feel slightly weird because of incomprehensible relationship between a young boy and old woman. But you will like their close relation which overcomes the generation gap, and the beautiful images of Hawaii and Bee’s hand-made healing food enable you to feel easy when you see this movie. And there’s not so bad scene to me.
Lastly, a memorable line is “Remember that age couldn’t be a barrier about what you really want to do”.

    1. Film name, actors, genre, setting
    Film name : Before sunrise
actor : Ethan Hawke, Julie Delpy
    genre : drama, romance

    2. Short summary
The film starts with Jesse meeting Celine on a train from Budapest and striking up a conversation with her. Jesse is going to Vienna to catch a flight back to the United States, whereas Celine is returning to university in Paris after visiting her grandmother. Jesse has to catch a flight early in the moring and does not enough money to rent a room for the night, so they decide to roam around in Vienna. As they continue to roam around the city, they begin to talk more openly with each other, with conversations ranging from topics about love, life, religion, and their observations of the city. They admit their attraction to each other and how the night has made them feel, though they understand that they probably will not see each other again when they leave. They simply decide to make the best of what time they have left. The film ends the next day at the train station, when the two hastily agree to meet together at the same place in six months as the train is about to leave.

    3. What did you like about the movie?
I really like the plot of this movie. The plot is minimalist, since aside from walking and talking, not much taking. The two character ideas and perspectives on life and love are detailed.

    4. What did you dislike about the movie? (ex., clichés, bad acting, bad plot twists)
I like almost things about movies. However, the plot is too simple to concentrate, so people can easily feel boring.

    5. In what ways would you change the movie? (ex., characters, pace, plot, ending, cinematography, etc.)
‘Before sunrise’ is the first one in series of movies. Second one is ‘Before sunset'(2004) and third one is ‘Before midnight'(2013). In ‘Before sunset’, they meet finally 9 years from that they meet again. Each movie shows 20s, 30s and 40s of two characters. I hope that Jesse and celine bear fruit of their love in the third in series of movies.

    Genre : Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi

When a big city has a mysterious outbreak of blindness, the victims are quarantined by the government in a hospital without any medical care, treatment or hygiene. Among the first people affected by the so called “white blindness” are an ophthalmologist and his reluctant healthy wife who has not lost her sight but stays with him to help him in the difficult moment. The place immediately crowds and a group of criminals takes the power, demanding jewels and electronics first and sex later for the limited ratio of food they control.
    3. What did you like about the movie?
The nature of human is well expressed in this movie. I did not think about cruelty of human until I watched this movie. Everything people does is infused with instinct for survive. It may become agitated if there is no social order.
    4. What did you dislike about the movie? (ex., clichés, bad acting, bad plot twists)
In my opinion, the movie was too superficial. They are treated horribly and do horrible things to survive, and there’s no other significant plot involving the characters. There are a lot of developments that don’t make sense. The photography is great, but that’s not enough. The dialogs are underdeveloped.
    5. In what ways would you change the movie? (ex., characters, pace, plot, ending, cinematography, etc.)
The ending was horrible. This movie didn’t even give you an actual conclusion, it never tells you what causes everyone to go blind, there are just way too many holes in the story, and it seemed like it went on and on and was never going to end.
    6. Are there any memorable lines? (For example, in the movie Shawshank Redemtion, one of the main characters says about life, “(you can) get busy living, or get busy dying.” A very inspirational quote!

    – Film name: Life is beautiful
    – Actors: Roberto Benigni, Nicoletta Braschi
    – Genre: Drama
    – Setting: Italy

    2. Short summary

During the darkest days of fascism in Italy, in 1930, Guido (Roberto Benigni) who was poor but humorous Jewish guy met Dora. Although Dora had had a fiancé, Dora thought that Guido was her destiny, so they ran away from their town. Dora was attracted to Guido who was humorous and had pure heart. And they got their baby, Joshua. But because of the policy to obliterate the Jews, Guido and Joshua were taken to the Jewish special camp. Dora who loved her husband and son, she also followed them to the Jewish camp. When Guido arrived at camp, he deceived his son that the camp was a game and if somebody got 1000 points, he would get a tank. They survived passing a crisis. And then finally they tried to escape the camp when Germany was defeated in the World war II. But Guido was shot dead by Germany soldier in the end.

    3. What did you like about the movie?

I liked the positive atmosphere of this move. While I was watching this movie, I was impressed about Guido’s positive attitude towards his bad situation. Even though he and his son were in bad situation, he did not lose his hope. His actions contrasted sharply with surrounding circumstance. Actually I was very negative person and often complained about what I had or what I did. But after watching this movie, I reflected on my conduct. Another thing that I liked about the movie was that it treated father’s love. It’s easy to find movies or stories treating mother’s love. However, about father’s love, people tend to pass over father’s love. It reminded us to think about our father’s love.

    4. What did you dislike about the movie?

One thing I wasn’t satisfied with this movie was that it could be boring for audience because of the lack of the dramatic tension of this movie for two hours. Because it didn’t have strong conflict plot so some people might feel that this movie was boring. If I was a director of this movie, I would put the strong dramatic tension making some dramatic conflict structure.

    5. In what ways would you change the movie?

As I mentioned above question, I want to put some dramatic conflict structure. Moreover, I want to change its ending. Even though this movie’s title is life is beautiful, the ending of the movie was quite sad. Because Guido’s death. Because, I prefer a happy ending to sad ending, I want to change its ending to happy ending.

    6. Are there any memorable lines?
    “Buon giorno principessa!”

This is a very famous line from this movie. It means “hello princess” in English.
Whenever Guido greeted with his wife, Dora, he said this line to her.
Although they met at the Jewish special camp, Guido made his wife happy saying “Buon giorno principessa!” Not only it made his wife happy but also made audiences happy. It showed how Guido was positive how he made his life beautifully.

    2) Main actors: Natalie Portman, Hugo Weaving, Graham Rea, John Hurt
    3) Genre: Action, Drama, SF
    4) Setting: London(mainly), After a nuclear war

    2. Short summary

The movie tells a story about a near-future U.K. Due to a nuclear war, a large part of the world destroyed. Moreover, there were natural disasters such as floods and crop failure. After a nuclear war, a fascist party called Norsefire had eliminated its all enemies and set up the dictatorship. The party now rules the country as a police state. V, an anarchist dressed in a Guy Fawkes mask, begins an elaborate, violent, and intentionally theatrical campaign to murder his former captors, bring down the government, and convince the people to rule themselves.

    3. What did you like about the movie?

Above all, I love the actor’s performance. Hugo Weaving only participated in the dubbing of the movie, he depicted an anarchist as wonderful. Moreover, Natalie Portman shaved her hair during the shoot. I think all the casts of this movie played well.

Second, the ways to use implication connected with the theme of the movie were elegant. For example, the main character, “V” is closely relatied with ‘5’.When V dances with the Eve, he played Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. V threw the five knives in the shape of V. V’s life motto, “Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici”, consisted of five words started with V.

    4. What did you dislike about the movie? (ex., clichés, bad acting, bad plot twists)

The movie glamorize violence, murder and terrorism. The end doesn’t justify the means. Some of violent scenes made me uncomfortable.

    5. In what ways would you change the movie? (ex., characters, pace, plot, ending, cinematography, etc.)

I want to change one thing. If I were a director of this movie, I wouldn’t let V die. I will make him alive and describe the ending more happier.(For example, a marriage of V and Eve)

    6. Are there any memorable lines? (For example, in the movie Shawshank Redemtion, one of the main characters says about life, “(you can) get busy living, or get busy dying.” A very inspirational quote!

I would like to introduce and express my opinion on the movie ‘Toy Story 3’ directed by Lee Unkrich. This is a family animation. The voice of the main character, Woody, is dubbed by Tom Hanks and Buzz Lightyear is dubbed by Tim Allen. This is the third series of Toy Story for its exploding popularity.

In ‘Toy Story 3′, the owner of the toys, Woody have become a grown up now and he is about to leave home for college. For toys, the sadest moment is when their owner does not play with them anymore. And this crisis came to the toys and they are donated to a nursery. The story develops as the toys struggle to escape from the nursery and get back to Woody’s house. Woody gives the toys to a little girl and the toys are sad but happy to find a new owner.

I loved the whole storyline of this movie and how the particular life stage is portrayed by our belongings, the toys. We, humans, all grow up and we have to leave something or somewhere in order to move on to something new or go to a somewhere new. Often, this is heartbreaking, but we just have to move on like that.
By turing his back to the toys, I could feel that the grown up Woody also has a burden on his shoulders. He needs to say good bye to what he used to love in his earlier stage of life in order to jump to the next stage.

The movie also taught me the value of life by the scene where the toys hold each others’ hands, let everything go and just wish for the best for the other. Thinking about death made me realise what is important in my life, the people around me.

The most moving line was “I wish I can always be with you.” This was touching because it tells us that we cannot do or have everything in the way we want. But I believe if we let one thing go, then we will gain something else. I think that is a rule of life.

    1. Film name, actors, genre, setting

The movie which I want to introduce is “With love, from the age of reason”. It’s a sweet french movie also known as “Dear Me” in korea. Sophie Marceau and Marton Csokas are the main actors in this film. This movie includes comedy, mello and romance. However I dont want to confine this movie as one or some genres. It’s not a common romance or sad story that we can watch on soup opera.

    2. Short summary

The main character, Magaret is an alpha girl. She has talent on her office work. Everything seems busy but stable and perfect until one old man came and gave her a letter. It was the letter that she wrote to herself in her past. Everyday, the unknown man gave her the letters she wrote to the future herself. Magaret start to recognize her real dream, real herself. She became career woman cause of the poverty. She wanted to get out of this poor situation badly but also didn’t want to loose herself. As a result, she choosed to leave the letters to the lawyer. These letters made Magaret live a new life, a new dream which she wanted afterall.

    3. What did you like about the movie?

This movie’s idea that letters from past was very fascinating idea. Also, in the letters, there were valuale lessons on each one of them. It was unique.

    4. What did you dislike about the movie? (ex., clichés, bad acting, bad plot twists)

    Actually, non…

    5. In what ways would you change the movie? (ex., characters, pace, plot, ending, cinematography, etc.)

The only thing I want to change in this film is the plot. Though could it be unrealistic, I really had hope Magaret would make her happy ending with her first love.

    6. Are there any memorable lines? (For example, in the movie Shawshank Redemtion, one of the main characters says about life, “(you can) get busy living, or get busy dying.” A very inspirational quote!

In Magaret’s past, her mom sell her clarinet cause of the poverty. But little Magaret says “I understand. Dreams have their own price tag too.” It made me so sad to hear little girl say this words. But it’s true and that made me more sad. Another inspiratioal quote that was used in this film was from Oscar Wilde saying, “Your dream should be big enough as not to loose from a sight”.(translated from korean. might be not exactly the same.) I couldn’t agree more on that quote. Though I am heading to my dream, it’s easy to loose from sight. This movie shows we should be more ahead of time and get prepared for our dream.

    1. Film name: Anna Karenina
    Actor: Keira Knightley(Anna), Jude Law(Karenin), Aaron Taylor-Johnson(Vronsky),
    Domhnall Gleeson(Levin), Alicia Vikander(Kitty).
    Genre: Drama
Setting: Russia in late 19th century.

    2. Short Summary.
‘Anna Karenina’ is the tragedy of married aristocrat. This Movie is based on the novel by Tolstoy. This movie’s main story is adultery between socialite Anna Karenina and affluent Vronsky. A parallel story within the novel is that of Levin and Kitty. There are two different love stories. Finally, the love of Anna and Vronsky end tragically. On the contrast, the pure love of Kitty and Levin end happily.

    3. What did you like about the movie?
Actually the reason why I watched this movie is my assignment. But when I watched this movie, I began to like this movie. Firstly, I liked actors and actresses in this movie. I already liked ‘Jude Law’ and ‘Keira Knightley’ before I watched ‘Anna Karenina’. And When I first knew ‘Aaron Taylor-Johnson’ through this movie, I fell in love. He is really handsome. Secondly, I liked the directing. This movie was produced like a stage play. It was very interesting. Also I liked the clothes, background like ballroom and music too.

    4. What did you dislike about the movie? (ex., clichés, bad acting, bad plot twists)
Actually, I liked almost everything of this movie. As I said, I liked actors also their act, too. I liked the plot and directing. The plot was a little bit complicate because there were two love stories and two stories were shown as comparing each other continuously. Also, the story is common love triangle so it can be a little bit boring. But I like all these things. It was interesting to me. Above all, the image was really beautiful.

    5. In what ways would you change the movie? (ex., characters, pace, plot, ending, cinematography, etc.)
I want to change the ending. In the latter half of this movie, Anna was crazy more and more and finally she threw herself under a train. It was tragedy. I want to change from tragedy ending to happy ending. I think that Anna and Vronsky really loved each other but they blocked the rule and law. Anna who has only one choice, suicide was miserable.

    6. Are there any memorable lines? (For example, in the movie Shawshank Redemtion, one of the main characters says about life, “(you can) get busy living, or get busy dying.” A very inspirational quote!
“No peace for us, only misery or greatest happiness” by Vronsky.
When Anna was debating between Karenin who is the husband of Anna and Vronsky, Anna said to Vronsky “If you have any thought for me, look at me by peace.” Then Vronsky responded “No peace for us, only misery or greatest happiness.” I think this response show that the real and true love between Anna and Vronsky. They threw away everything like their authority, reputation, moral and so on just for their love. So I was impressed with this lines.

    2. In Jackson, Mississippi, in the 1960’s, Skeeter came back to the town and wanted to be a writer. She decided to publish a book about the story of Black helpers. However, in this time, the black were discriminated by the white and they had no basic rights. So, Skeeter get the stories from some helpers who has been suffered discrimination by the white. In the end, a book titled “The Help” is published nationally and the helpers became social issue.

    3. The story was so interesting that I concentrated on the movie from the beginning to the end. Especially when the owners insult about their humanity, I got really angry. Also, the story reminded me of the same era in Korea. Rich people had helpers who had a bad situation like homeless or orphans. The fact that the white don’t care about their children and even the children rely much on their helper made me enraged.

    4. To be honest, I was so concentrated that I couldn’t find any hesitating scene or part at all.

    5. If I should change something, I will choose the ending. In the movie, a main character Aibileen walk away and the camera shoot the back side of her. However, I would like to make the scene that the helpers gathered and taking a picture with Skeeper with happy smile.

    6. One of the main character, Aibileen, a helper says to the white child, “You is kind. You is smart. You is important. ” She always say it to the child she raises. When Aibileen got fired and left the house, a child stopped her. Aibileen reminded the child what she has been talked to her so the child says it to Aibileen. At this scene, Aibileen was told by a girl “You is kind. You is smart. You is important.” It was the best part for me.

    2. Short summary
    Storyline
This film is set in 2093 and takes place in the same universe as the ‘Alien’ movies. A group of explorers, including some archaeologists, are on an “undisclosed” mission. They arrive at a planet millions of miles away from Earth. The team spot what they believe to be signs of civilization. They go to investigate and find more than just signs, they find conclusive evidence. But some of them have an ulterior motive for being there, including the Weyland Corporation. They believe that this is where the human race actually came from. Things soon turn from excitement to survival once inside their discovery.

    3. What did you like about the movie?
In this Movie, there are a lot of signs and symbols. I like other Alien series and this is the movie that open another way to New Alien series. If audience watched other Alien movies, it could be fun to find various signs and symbols that had been used from series 1 to 4 and new symbols and compare each one.
This movie makes new theory to find human beings’ root. It has its own hypothesis and it is interesting.
Criticism from each person were also different from person to person. After we watching it, having discussion was also good.

    4. What did you dislike about the movie? (ex., clichés, bad acting, bad plot twists)
Working on finding out some signs and symbols was interesting but it also gave me headache. There were the scenes that I can not understand and I cannot find information about it. Maybe only the director knows.

    5. In what ways would you change the movie? (ex., characters, pace, plot, ending, cinematography, etc.)

    2. Short summary
Avatar is the story of Jake Sully, a paraplegic marine, who replaces his brother on a secret mission on the planet of Pandora. Jake Sully is recruited to aid a mining expedition on the distant jungle of Pandora as only his DNA will bond with the alien hybrid body, known as an Avatar, that allows humans to breathe the toxic air.
There are several differences between humans and Na’vi. Humans are armed with science and technology but Na’vi live in harmony with Nature and worship a mother goddess called Eywa and they feel sympathy for animals and trees. They interact with other creatures and also the Na’vi refuse to accept benefits of civilization. At last, humans try to settle this problem by force so they begin destroy nature in Pandora to chase the Na’vi. Humans use bombshells, guns, fighting planes to attack the Na’vi and destroy settlements of the Na’vi. Although Jack Sully is a human, he becomes a part of the Na’vi.

Avatar is an important film from a technical standpoint but it is also great entertainment. The world of Pandora is a stunning spectacle from scene to scene so it makes me very excited.

The movie I am going to talk about is Terminator2. The main characters of the movie are T101, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, John Connor, played by Edward Fullong, Sarah Connor, played by Linda Hamilton, and T1000 played by Robert Patrick.. It is an SF and action movie. Setting of this movie is modern era but few future warefare scenes appear at the opening of the movie. Terminator2 is a movie about what happens to a boy who is supposed to be a human leader in the future and machines sent from the future. John Connor is the leader and leads humans to victory against machines. Because of two machines which have different purposes each other, exiting chases and fights happen between main characters.
I love this movie for three reasons. First, Schwarzenegger’s image is very suit a machine, Terminator. Especially, his huge body, cold appearances and inarticulate accent may make him a good terminator. Another actors played their charcters well too. Also, the story of it iswonderful. Although genre of it is action, it has dramatic factors in it. Not only action scenes but also friendship between a human and a machine makes us moved. Of course, the most important things are exciting action scenes. Chase, hand-to-hand fight and gun battle are very exciting. Finally, the reason I consider it the best movie ever is CG. At that time, CG of this movie was very innovative and shocked. It is not strange from the point of a view of this era.
I cannot say bad things of this movie because it is the best movie for me. But if I could change this movie, I would not edit this movie. It is a masterpiece itself. I think no one can make better Terminator movie than it.
My memorial line is ‘I now now why you cry’. At the last part of this movie, T101 says like that. After terminating T1000, John orders T101 not to go but T101 denies it because of hi mission rule. Jonh and T101 may feel friendship together and that is because John taught T101 to be like human. Finally, a machine, T101 may understand little bi John’s mind.

    1. Film name, actors, genre, setting

    Kill Bill 1, 2 , Uma Thurman, action/thriller film, America & Japan

    2. Short summary

This is a story about the revenge of the woman killer, The Bride, another name “Black Mamba”. The tries to revenge other group members one by one who destroyed her whole life. At the end, she successfully revenges every group members and finds her missing daughter.

    3. What did you like about the movie?

I mostly like the action scenes in this movie. Unlike the other films, the action scenes of Kill Bill are so realistic. A realistic description is maybe seen as creepy to some people. However, I like the scenes of bloody sword fighting. Also, the thing which the main character is the woman is so attractive to me. The strong image of the heroine is impressive.

    4. What did you dislike about the movie? (ex., clichés, bad acting, bad plot twists)

I don’t like the film director expressed the images of the samurai of Japan too much in this movie.

    5. In what ways would you change the movie? (ex., characters, pace, plot, ending, cinematography, etc.)

I think the pace of the journey to find Bill and revenge is a little bit slow. I would change it little faster than the original one, then the movie will be more exciting.

    6. Are there any memorable lines? (For example, in the movie Shawshank Redemtion, one of the main characters says about life, “(you can) get busy living, or get busy dying.” A very inspirational quote!

The most memorable line is “Revenge Is A Dish Best Served Cold.” This is the old Klingon Proverb. With this meaningful line which is summing up the whole story, the movie starts.

Have you ever doubted about your surroundings whether they really exist or not?
When I was elementary school student, I often thought that all the surroundings such as my house, school, church seemed fake. I mean I felt that some people were looking my life and monitoring me and i was living in a setting made by others to decieve me. So sometimes, when I was alone in my room, I told by myself”I know someone is looking at me, come out!”. Is it just my experience? Did you also have this feeling?

I want to introduce you about “The Truman Show” that I was so impressed on because its story was describing my imagination. The main actors of it are Jim Carrey, Laura Linney,Noah Emmerich,Natascha McElhone. The movie is comedy, drama, SF and fantasy. Almost setting of the movie is studios of a reality show in the movie, where the main actor, Jim Carrey is living.

In this movie, a TV producer made a reality show. In the setting of the reality show, a man, Jim carrey lives for about 30 years. In fact, from his birth, he lives in the setting monitored by the audience through cameras. All the people and all the surroundings was set by the producer. However, only Jim carrey didn’t know that his life was monitored. How pity he was! At firs, he believed all the things surrounding him was real. I think it deals with general human’s unconscious fear, that they are looked by others.

“We accept the reality of the world with which we are presented”
This is the line Jim carrey said at the last part of the movie. During his life, he couldn’t see that he was looked by the audience through cameras. He only thought his life was real. But it wasn’t. In other words, he accepted the reality of the world with which he was presented. How about your life? You believe all the things within your sight? All we could be like Jim carrey in the movie. I’ve remembered the line “We accept the reality of the world with which we are presented” whenever I see, hear, learn something in my life. And try to think further my insight.

I was really impressed on the movie, but there are somethings that I don’t like.
I think the main theme of the movie is, as I said before,”We accept the reality of the world with which we are presented”. If this is all thing that the movie is telling us, it is so confusing in that I cannot believe anything and rely on anything that exist in real my life. Isn’t there anything that I can believe?

So if I were the director of the movie, I would said that even though “We accept the reality of the world with which we are presented”, there is invariable thing , “love”. In fact, Jim carrey realized that he was in the studio of the show by hearing from Laura Linney, who he fell in love wigh. Therefore, I want to add a scene, where he and she finally love each other and get married after escaping the studio. I want to say that though we cannot believe all the things in our sight, love is invarible ,unchanged and faithful!

Anyway, I really like this movie! “TRUMAN SHOW”!!

    4. What did you dislike about the movie?
The movie tell part of the South in the War. I don’t like the point. Because there are points of The War, it make people who saw the movie think the incorrect view just to tell the view

    3. What did you like about the movie?
The storyline of the movie was very inspiring for me. Especially, the role played by Aamir khan, who aim at Excellence and not at Success, provides a role model for the student to follow. The main thing movie told is that just catch the carrier which you like. It could help me think what I really want out of my life and pursue it. That is why it is worth watching it.

    4. What did you dislike about the movie?
There are some scenes including musical elements like songs and dances here and there throughout that movie. It was fun and only temporary, but a little confusing. (It is said that movies with musical elements can be easily found in the Indian comedy.)

    5. In what ways would you change the movie?
The movie has social comment on a dysfunctional school system that pressures huge numbers of students into suicide. However, suicide is fatal and threatening, so I want to eliminate the suicide scenes in the movie.

Rancho: Pursue excellence, and success will follow, pants down.

They are attacked from the monsters and scattered. Can they escape from the cave?

    3. What did you like about the movie?

When I watched the movie, I was full of nerves because the mood of the movie was so scary and horrible. The tension made me feel thrilled and ease my stress. Especially, special effects were so realistic and vivid that I could concentrate on the movie more easily.

    4. What did you dislike about the movie? (ex., clichés, bad acting, bad plot twists)

The front part of the movie was a little boring.

    5. In what ways would you change the movie? (ex., characters, pace, plot, ending, cinematography, etc.)

I want to change the front part of the movie. Instead of a boring story, I want to explain why the monsters emerge and how the monsters live. By doing so, audiences will be able to concentrate more on the movie.

    6. Are there any memorable lines? (For example, in the movie Shawshank Redemtion, one of the main characters says about life, “(you can) get busy living, or get busy dying.” A very inspirational quote!

    2. Short summary
In the 1930s, Ip Man who mastered Wing Chun was the most famous martial artist in China. One day, Japan invaded China so Sino-Japanese War bursted. The province which Ip Man lived in was under Japan colonial rule. Japanese imperialists instituted a policy to obliterate Chinese cultures including China martial arts. As a result, many Chinese martial artists were killed. Ip Man who declared not to take pupils gave up his principles for the Chinese to protect by themselves, and resist Japan with his martial art, Wing Chun, to get back national self-respect.
    3. What did you like about the movie?
The story of the movie may gain the sympathy from Korean because Korea also was under Japan colonial rule. The setting of the movie and Yen Ji-Dan’s acting mix well so I was absorbed in the movie.
    4. What did you dislike about the movie? (ex., clichés, bad acting, bad plot twists)
I think there was no fault in the movie. Honestly, I downloaded and saw the movie. So I depended on a subtitle someone made. However, the subtitle was so bad that I had to download again for other good subtitles.
    5. In what ways would you change the movie? (ex., characters, pace, plot, ending, cinematography, etc.)
If I were the movie director, I would change the scene that a band of Chinese thieves plunder the same Chinese people. Surely, the history have to be written rightly, but instead of the scene, a scene that Japanese soldiers plunder the Chinese people will fit well the movie’s theme.

One day, the new teacher Mr,Kitting (who actually was one of the graduates) came to Welton in order to teach students literature. He taught his students in a very unusual way that inspire them to dream. One of his students, Nell, was interested in acting, so he gave up stduying for becoming a doctor, and eventually, he died because he couldn’t reduce the gap between him and his parents. Mr kitting also left the school in the end because of the students, but all of them actually know how their teacher mr, Kitting love them and how he is good.

    6. Are there any memorable lines? (For example, in the movie Shawshank Redemtion, one of the main characters says about life, “(you can) get busy living, or get busy dying.” A very inspirational quote!

the movie I like to tell about is ‘la jetee’. this movie is made by french director named ‘Christian Francois Bouche-Villeneuve’. the title ‘la jetee’ is french word it means ‘runway’. because this movies’ background is runway. the special point of this movie is the fact that it is composed of pictures. there is no movement and saying. there are only narration and pictures. although this movie runs for about 22 minutes and composed of only pictures, it has great meaning inside of the movie. after I watched this, it helps me to break stereotype on movie. it was short movie but it remains in my mind longer than any other movies.

In my opinion, for me, without a doubt, the best action trilogies would have to be Die Hard. I don’t think you can say that you are a man’s man or a bloke, bloke until you have watched these at least ten times a piece. I myself love the die hard movies. At least you can understand what Bruce Willis is saying unlike that other action hero Rambo. And the action is awesome. Die Hard (the Original) is the best in that I was watching it the other day and somewhat had a heart attack during the scene that the police (Carl Winslow) looks at the Nakatomi Building.
The Die Hard series had an enough impanc on me to be drain from th movie with the scenes and actions included.
